The Roman Bridge
Last update: 15 February 2023, 11:27
WHERE: in Ponte Romano street.
HISTORY: in the center of a historic city agglomeration (the "Faubourg Pont de Pierre"), the bridge was built in conjunction with the founding of Augusta Praetoria and allowed to cross the river Buthier. Built using local stone, it no longer serves its original function as in the eleventh century a great flood did change the course of the river.
